1861: New Granada 10 c. blue, three single examples used on small piece, all of good colour and fine margins all round, cancelled by "Amb'a" in manuscript at Ambalena. Extremely attractive and very rare, the second largest 'franking' of this stamp known (besides the unique strip of three, ex Wickersham, Hubbard and Hugo Goeggel). (cancellation error for Cali) in blue. An extraordinary mixed issue franking, illustrated in Bortfeldt "150 Ãnos del Primer Sello Postal" on page 55. 1862/63: 10 c. blue on bluish paper, with period after CENT, large margins on all sides and in a deep shade, on 16 February 1864 entire letter from the small town of Soata to Bogotá, cancelled by "Soata" manuscript in ink. 1920 (Mar./Oct.): 10 c. green "pilots and plane", part proof sheet of 68 on white chalky paper instead the issued yellowish paper, only missing the SE bottom corner block of four. The reverse bears an affidavit by the printer, countersigned by a notary and a government official that the sheet was printed by Sr. Valiente. Two fiscals are attached to each counter signature.rn10 c. "plane, mountains, and water" two different designs alternating, in part sheet of 60 on ordinary paper accompanies this lot.
