1899: 1 s, pale blue, perf., Pigeongram issue, a used example on edge of printed flimsy form tied by oval "The Original Great Barrier Pigeongram Service / 3 Jan 1901" datestamp in violet to S. Holden Howie flimsy (220 x 145 mm.); the letter from Port Fitzroy states "We are having a great time cruising on the Rangatira. We went first to Mercury Island....we have been further along the coast to where the Wairaiapa was wrecked...". 1969/75: Artist's Essay for 1 r. 50 value, hand-painted Essay on card (114 x 89 mm.) by Mary Hayward, multicoloured and showing the Battle between HMS Sybille and the Chiffone, largely as accepted but the accepted design showing Seychelles legend enlarged at base (manuscript 'check logo') and illustration reduced at left. 1928: Postal Stationery 1 d. black & carmine on buff Newspaper wrappers (3), all unused with varieties: the first with Ship central vignette misplaced 3 mm. to left, second example with the Ship vignette misplaced to right by 11 mm. shift; the third example presumably trapped in the press with two impressions of the Frame Only (one significantly over-inked) with "Van Riebeeck's Ship Missing" variety, this last with minor crease which contributed to the error and tiny tear at base.
