    1863/76: 2 c. orange, perf. 12½, a vertical pair used on reverse of 1864 wrapper from Belfield to Mahaicony, tied by fine strikes of "B G / E 4 C" datestamps (Jan 22) in black (Proud D2) with further strike below. Obverse with manuscript "Paid 4 cents on the back". The adhesives cut but intact on opening but not unattractive and a scarce rate and franking.     1881: '2' on 24 c. emerald green used on 1882 cover to London endorsed 'per R.M. Stmr. of 24 Jan.y' with Type-set 1 c. magenta perforated SPECIMEN diagonally reading down, First Setting, a horizontal pair and 2 c. black on yellow in a horizontal pair from Second Setting, left hand stamp showing variety "Small 2", all cancelled by "A04" obliterators in black. Backstamped 'New Amsterdam' (Jan 24) and London arrival cds in red on obverse (Feb 13). Illustrated in Edition D'Or XLV on the front cover and on page 80. The Type-set issue is very rare used on cover, especially so on letters mailed abroad. Cert. BPA (2010).rn

    1882: Type-set 1 c. magenta perforated SPECIMEN diagonally reading down, First Setting, a strip of three positions 4-6, used on small local 1882 envelope tied by "Georgetown / B. Guiana" cds (Jan 12) with further strike below. Small stains from gum and indentation at base of third stamp, but used on third day of issue and the issue is rare on letter. Signed G. Lamy.     1893: De La Rue Die Essays (2) for the central circular vignette for the postal stationery envelopes, adhered on two white file cards (71 x 45 mm.), the first Proof marked "A" with Frigate embossed in white on vermilion surround with Flags to left (the chosen design) and second marked "B" with the circular vignette in vermilion with uncleared surround showing Flags to right (accepted) but with the vertical lines at sides of the Frigate which were later removed; both are dated "Nov 27.93" in manuscript. Illustrated in Edition D'Or XLV on page 63. A superb and unique pair, ex the De La Rue archives.
