"Manuel Belgrano" 10 cv. green perf. 12 on white wove paper diag. bisect locally used as 5 cv. tied by pen cross to lettersheet from Las Canas to Corral de Mulas. Due the shortage of 5 cv. stamps, the use of bisected 10 cv stamps had been authorized and usages from larger Post Offices had been recorded from late 1869 until 1875. To date there are seven usages known, the hereby offered cover is not listed. Only existing letter with bisected 1867/68 10 c. circulated in a single province (generally extremely rare in this period). See article in Revista F.A.E.F. No.106 / 2004, certs. Cordoba 1858: 5 c. blue on horizontally laid paper, a used example unfortunately touched on three sides but with large margin at right cancelled in manuscript (opinion Maria Brettl) and a very fine used example with frame lines at top and at right, tied to 1864 entire letter by manuscript pen-cross in blue-black ink. A fine example of this rare usage but in the opinion of Maria Brettl and ourselves, the genuine stamp probably does not belong to the cover.
