    French Levant 1853: 20 c. deep blue, used in combination with 40 c. orange (four fine examples), on 1858 double rate cover from Smyrne to Geneva, tied by '3709' petit chiffres with 'Smyrne / Turquie' French P.O. datestamp alongside (March 23).     1859: Cover from Smyrne to Malta struck with superb French Paquebot SIMOIS datestamp (March 1) with MARS month inverted in black (Salles fig. 819 var), carried to Malta on return journey and rated '6' (pence) to pay with arrival cds (March 5) on reverse. A scarce usage. Signed Jamet.

    1864: Cover from Constantinople to Lyon franked by 1862 10 c. bistre and 40 c. orange tied by dotted Anchor lozenge and fine GODEWERY Paquebot datestamp alongside (Aug 25) struck in blue (Salles fig. 777). Small cartridge 'Paquebots / De La / Mediterranée' in red alongside and reverse with Marseille and Lyon (Aug 31) cds's. Fresh and fine cover.

Red framed 'Paquebots / De La / Mediteranée' alongside and Marseille arrival cds (Feb 25) on reverse. Signed Jamet.

    1867/1931.: Range of covers/cards (30) and pieces (6), all with Shipping usages, with 1862 cover from Odessa franked by France 40 c. pair forwarded in Constantinople to Messina, 1867 entire to Constantinople ex Salonica bearing 40 c. tied by gros chiffres with manuscript Ship 'Vatican' alongside, 1907 Tunisia cover with 25 c. franking cancelled by 'Valletta / Malta' datestamps on arrival, 1927 cover to Rhodes with France 50 c. and 1 fr. Sowers tied by bilingual Turkish 'Paquebot' handstamp, various usages of French stamps on covers from Egypt (6) from 1878 onwards, 1900 Military cover from Dakar (Sénégal). Condition varies but a most interesting group. Ex collection Del Bianco.
