    1869 (Jan 22): Entire letter written in Italian from Alexandretta to Aleppo, manuscript '1' in crayon at right, handstamped on arrival with two line POSTE - RUSSE / d'ALEP in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 205). It is interesting to note the similarity of this marking with that of the French Post Office in Aleppo at the same time. The exceptional strike of this marking on a fine entire in excellent quality. Rare. The unique usage recorded by Tchilinghirian & Stephen. Cert. BPA (2000).

Gessellschaft für Dampfschiff und Handel, Agentur in Lattakia) with superb strike of single ring PORT LATTAKIA datestamp  (Nov 18) at right also in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 207). Docketing of receipt inside of December 1. Small iron spotting in paper and file fold away from the superb adhesive. An astonishingly rare cover for the specialist. Signed J. Cividini, L. Miro. Cert.
