1919: "War Tax" overprints, three Proofs on separate cards, two unadopted, all reading "WAR TAX / 1 d." or "1 d. / WAR TAX", all in black with one (Gibbons Type 21) annotated "Approved WHM 3/2/19" in black ink, two with slight thins, oe with diagonal crease, presumably due to removal from DLR collection, neither affecting the fine appearance. Illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 5459.
