British East Africa Protectorate 1896/1901: Recess by De La Rue, an Imperforate Proof in grey, with hand-painted Duty Plate "3 ANNAS", on unwatermarked paper. Extremely rare, this Proof would have been removed from the De La Rue "Appendix A" proposal sheet, as the "Appendix B" sheet is still intact.
