    Mombasa Provisionals 1891 (Feb): Provisional "1 Anna" in manuscript on 3 a. black on dull red, two single examples, countersigned "VHM" (Victor H. Mackenzie, IBEA Co. Bank Manager) in black ink, used on 1894 registered Macallister cover to London with single 2½ a. black on bright yellow all tied by MOMBASA code A circular datestamps (Oct 15) in black with oval "R" at left, paying the corrrect single registered rate. Further tied on arrival by London registration datestamp in red and "Registered / Woolwich" arrival (Nov 16). Just seven covers are recorded bearing this Provisional, one of which is housed in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III.
