    Surcharged by De La Rue on GB 1890 (May 23): 4 a. on 5 d. dull purple & blue, a used horizontal pair, fresh and very fine,  cancelled by LAMU circular datestamps (Aug 1, 1890) in black. Right hand stamp with two slightly blunted perfs. however, just 3¼ sheets (780 stamps) were issued and this represents a scarce in-period usage Gi = £ 700+.rnrnProvenance: Heinrich Köhler, Wiesbaden, sale 224, 8 June 1978, lot 2571.
