    Mahé 1872/77: Cérès 5 c. green on blued and 25 c. blue in a horizontal strip of three, used on 1875 cover from Pondichery endorsed "via Alexandria" to Mâcon, France tied by three superb strikes of the lozenge of dots and fine "INDE / MAHE" circular datestamp (Sept 13) all in red. Carried from Bombay on P&O steamer "Mongolia" via Aden to Suez, with oxidised "Paq. Angl. / Alexandrie" transit datestamps on obverse (Oct 2) in red and reverse with arrival cds (Oct 12).
