    Incoming Mail 1863/71: Tasmania Chalon 1 d. carmine (2, one with fault), 4 d. pale blue (2) 6 d. slate, perf. 12, all used on 1870 cover front to Mauritius endorsed "per Malta" tied by "52" numeral obliterators with diamond "POST OFFICE / LAUNCESTON / ♚" datestamp (Jan 1) in red. Carried on the P&O "Malta" to Galle, thence by "Hindostan" to Aden and the French steamer "Ermine" to Mauritius. Manuscript "10d." in red crayon being the British credit and struck with "1d. / TO PAY" in blue upon arrival. Faults but a remarkable piece.
