    1865/1896: Powerful collection of China local issues with a very strong section SHANGHAI with twenty-one imperforate dragons with "candareen" currency, later issues of Shanghai are also strongly represented, with thirty 1866/67 dragons. Naturally later issues are also well represented. Other local posts such as AMOY, CHEFOO, CHINKIANG, CHUNGKING, FOOCHOW, HANKOW, ICHANG, KEWKIANG, WUHU, TIENTSIN and FORMOSA are also represented often in significant numbers. Due to the high number of forgeries in circulation this lot is sold as seen.
