1886 (Jan 7): Letter from Messrs. De La Rue & Co. to the Crown Agents, headed "Tasmania" at top, the letter with overprinted 2 s. 6 d. and 10 s. values, a temporary measure, the 10 s. value overprinted with additional manuscript "doubly fugitive green". Fine letter with "The cost of each of temporary overprint plates would be £3. 3s. / The cost of 100 sheets of each value of stamp overprinted complete would be at the rate of 3 s. 6 d. per thousand stamps".
