1836 (May 4): Entire letter from Charles Price in Hobart Town to London, prepaid '4d.' for an outgoing Ship Letter in red manuscript. Backstamped "INDIA LETTER / DOVER" in red (Robertson IN5) and rated '1/-' due for an incoming Packet Letter. Red "GP" (General Post) applied in London on obverse with London arrivals (Aug 29). Scarce and fine.rnNote: Charles Price (1807-1901) was a prominent Congregational Minister and temperance advocate. Price returned to Launceston for the second time on 29 April 1836 and therefore this letter was written shortly afterwards asking "the Governor for a piece of ground for a Chapel... I shall leave no stone unturned to get a Chapel as soon as possible".rnAusruf : 400,00 CHFZuschlag : 420,00 CHF
