1885: De La Rue Essay for the proposed 6 d. value, unadopted design, hand-painted in pale mauve & mauve on card (28 x 32 mm.) with lettering at top, SOUTH AUSTRALIA and Duty Plate picked out in Chinese white, dated "1 JULY 85" in manuscript at top.
