1865/72: 1 r. orange buff on quadrille paper with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at base with 1 r. yellow on white wove paper, close to touched margins, used on 1872 entire letter to Lima, Peru tied by bold "Guayaquil / Franca" datestamp (Oct 19) struck in blue; in combination with France 1867 laureated 30 c. brown (Yvert 30) in a horizontal pair tied by dotted Anchor lozenge in black. Carried on the French Packet "Ville de St. Nazaire" and struck with erroneously dated "GUAYAQUIL / PAQ. FR. F No. 2" datestamp (Salles fig. 1383) in black - the date the Steamer was due to arrive, see Salles Vol. IV, page 182. Internal docketing of receipt on October 14. A rare and spectacular entire.
