    1878 (Dec 7): Great Britain 1864/79 1 d. red pl. 179, used on local cover from Larnaca to the Commissioner, Colonel Falkland Warren tied by "942" obliterator with fine LARNACA / CYPRUS datestamp below (Dec 7, code B) in black. Col. Warren spent a great deal of his time in Cyprus excavating archaelogical digs for which he gave himself permission.
