    1852: 6 baj. black on greyish paper, just touched at right but sheet marginal at base, used with 7 baj. black on blue (two examples) on 1855 cover to Paris tied by grill handstamps with JESI handstamp alongside at right. Red framed PD and Ancona transit cds (Dec 10) alongside. Reverse with Paris arrival cds. An attractive cover. Signed Saatchi.

    Faked definitive 1855: Falsi dell'Epoca 5 b. rosa type II, produced in Bologna, a fine and fresh example with large margins all round, tied by grill handstamp to entire letter (cover fold below the stamp) with "BOLOGNA 23 NOV 55" cds alongside, sent to Livorno with arrival cds on reverse. Cert. Colla (2013) Sassone = € 15'000.
