    Great Britain 1829 (March 27): Entire letter from Hobart, Tasmania to Edinburgh, Scotland struck with oval framed HOBART TOWN / V.D.L. handstamp in black, carried on the 'Marquis of Lansdowne', struck on reverse with step type SHIP LETTER / FALMOUTH in black with London cds (Aug 4) in red alongside. The entire was prepaid the 4d. Tasmanian Ship Fee and charged on arrival at 1/8d. (8d. Ship +1s. to Edinburgh). Cover opens well for display.
