    Australia 1919 (Oct 1): Ross Smith Flight, England to Australia. Special Blue stamp (some irregular perfs at left), tied by one of two crisp strikes of "First Aerial Mail, Great Britain to Australia, Received, 26 Feb. 1920" on cover from Baghdad to Sydney, with autograph "Bennett 12. 12. 19" on reverse. The cover has its original content and is heavily damaged but skillful supported. In spite of its faults a very desirable cover.

    1980/81: Norfolk Island Aeroplanes 1 c., 2 c. and 3 c. values - imperforate Proofs each affixed to three Harrison & Sons presentation cards, 1 c. value depicts the 'Gypsy Moth' (as utilised for the issued 2 c. value), 2 c. value depicts the 'Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk' as utilised for the issued 3 c. value and the 3 c. Proof shows 'Chance Vought Corsair' as utilised for the issued 4 c. value. These errors were discovered at the Proof stage and later corrected, hence these three are the sole examples known or recorded. Unique.

    Betschuanaland 1888: GB ½ d. vermilion optd., with 1888 3 d. lilac & black and December 1891 1 d. lilac and 2 d. grey-green & carmine, all tied by numeral obliterators with GABERONES datestamp in black below (Nov 29). The cover franked at 6½ d. but found to be double weight and struck with framed 'Centimes/T' at right with manuscript '65' rappen in blue, pencil '1.30' on the centre of cover and duly taxed for this amount with Postage Due 10 c., 30 c. and 100 c. tied by 'Lausanne' datestamps (Dec 28) in black. Reverse of cover with 'Mafeking' squared circle and London transit cds (Dec 26). A most unusual and attractive cover.

    Seychelles 1893 (Jan 1): Locally surcharged '45 cents' on 48 c. ochre & green, a mint complete pane of 60, fresh and fine except for one or two tone spots on reverse, unmounted original gum. A splendid multiple Gi = £ 2'100+.

    Note: The overprint setting appears from this block to have been in a format of thirty: positions 1 and 31 show broken 'c' in 'cents', positions 30 and 60 each show a diagonal split in the '5' and 'nts' of the surcharge.
