    1897: 2½ d. on 3 d. lilac & green, the superb mint strip of four showing all four types of overprint (Gi Types 8, 10, 11, 12), the fourth stamp showing slight kiss print of the 'Postage' overprint leaving the last 'E' in 'Postage' slightly doubled, fresh and extremely fine, superb large part original gum. Delightful and scarce strip. Cert. Philatelic Foundation (1962) Scott 49+50+51+48 = $ 680+/Gi = £ 625+.

    1897: 2½ d. on 6 d. lilac & green, the superb mint strip of four showing all four types of overprint (Gi Types 10, 11, 12, 8), fresh and very fine, merest trace of rubbing on fourth stamp but a rare and splendid multiple, minor gum bend of no importance, with large part original gum Scott 53+54+55+52 = $ 535+/Gi = £ 520+.

An extremely rare stamp in excellent condition. Ex collection Tompkins (lot 1239, 2006). Cert. BPA (1997) Scott 61 = $ 20'000/Gi = £ 19'000.
    Note: Just 240 of the 2 shilling stamp were overprinted, the set-up of 30 in the overprinting process gives just 2 stamps with this overprint type in each frame of 30 overprinted. Thus only 16 examples of this stamp can exist of which only 14 have been recorded mint and none are known used.
