    1820: "Cavallino" 50 centesemi blue, struck on 1820 (Oct 28) entire letter from Novara to Lugano / Switzerland with oval 'Novara' handstamp of despatch in red above italic 'Dir. pp.le delle Poste / di Novara' handstamp in black, the Cavallino pre-paying the internal rate to thee border. "Milano / LT' transit in red and taxed on arrival in Lugano with '8' kreuzer due in red crayon. The entire refolded to show the printed inside, a rare and remarkable external usage. Signed E. Diena.     1818/1825: "Cavallino" collection, a remarkable group with "Modelli de' Bolli" notice with illustrations of the Postrider values (15 c., 25 c. and 50 c.) in blue, title page of the 'Manifesto Camerale' printed in Turin in December 1818, provisional usage on an invoice of the circular 15 c. blue (signed) and octagonal 50 c. blue (signed A. Diena); 1820 entire letter with colourless embossed 15 c. Cavallini used on the third day of issue from Fontanetto to Vercelli (cert. E. Diena), further entire with colourless embossed 50 c. used in July 1821 from Narzole to Turin (cert. Sorani). A remarkable collection of inestimable value to the postal historian or postal stationery specialist.
