Reverse with London transit cds (Sept 13) in red and Danish P.O. in Hamburg transit (Sept 15) in black. Manuscript ratings of '31' (schillinge) and '108' (skilling) due from recipient.
Note: Rated 1s. 9d. (less 2 d. when posted onwards) + 4 d. from London to Denmark = 1s. 11d. This amount was rounded up to 19½ silvergroschen + 3½ sgr = German share = 23 sgr. Reverse with Badajoz transit cds in blue (April 4) and Thurn & Taxis and Danish P.O. in Hamburgs cds's (April 11). The Portuguese 25 reis paid only the internal rate and thus treated as an unpaid letter from France (2½ sgr = French share, ½ sgr. = Belgian share, 3 sgr = German share = 6 sgr = 26 skilling + 9 sk. for Danish share. Charged "35" skilling due on receipt in red manuscrript on front.
