    Switzerland 1853 (Nov. 26): Large cover part from Lausanne to Paris bearing Rayon III large cipher Types 3+4+3 in a horizontal strip of three from two groups, a fine and fresh multiple with large even margins all round, tied by light federal grill obliterator, LAUSANNE despatch cds in black and French "SUISSE 28 NOV 53 PONTARLIER" entry cds in red alongside. Reverse with PARIS arrival cds of the same day. Handwritten note 'insuf" and '2' for the second rate on front and taxed with '8' décimes. Part of backflaps missing, minor receiver's notes on front, nevertheless a splendid cover, signed Hunziker; cert. von der Weid (1997) SBK = CHF 2'500.rnNote: In the 1852 rate to France this cover was overfranked by 5 rp. coming from the second Swiss rayon and directed to France outside the border rayon.
