Large Crown, perf. 14, a single example used on 1858 entire letter to Oran, Algeria endorsed "Vapor de Guerra Paquete" tied by "G" in bars obliterator in black with GIBRALTAR cds below in blue (Nov 15). Circular "ESPAGNE / ORAN" cds (Nov 22) in red at left and charged '8' décimes due upon delivery. Oran arrival cds on reverse of a fine and scarce entire.

    1859/62: Covers to France (3) with Great Britain 1858 2 d. blue pl. 7 (2) on 1859 entire letter to Oran, Algeria and taxed '24' décimes due in manuscript; 1861 cover to Marseille franked GB 1858 2 d. pl. 8 tied by Gibraltar duplex and taxed '6' décimes handstruck on arrival; 1862 entire letter written from Gibraltar franked by 1862 4 cs. brown strip of three cancelled by '63' at San Roque to Montpellier taxed '5' centimes due in black.

    1866: Spain frankings from Gibraltar (2), with 1866 12 cs. orange single franking cover to Paris endorsed "via Madrid" struck with "FRANQUEO / INSUFFICIENTE" in black at San Roque, via St. Jean de Luz and taxed '9' as double weight; and 1867 cover to Lyon franked by 1867 4 cs. blue in two strips of three via the same route, charged with '5' centimes due in black. Some minor peripheral aging but a scarce pairing.
