    1874: 2 r. green, optd. by small 'Contra Sello 1874' in black, used on 1875 cover to Paris cancelled by framed FRANCO handstamp, with 'San Salvador / Salvador' despatch cds (Jan 14) in black. Circular 'PANAMA / TRANSIT' datestamp of transit (Jan 27) in black, thence via London (March 1) where framed "GB / 1F 90c." Accountancy marking applied in black. Charged '15' décimes on arrival A very rare stamp on letter. Cert. Moorhousee (2005), Scheller (2008).

    1887/89: Proofs (5) by the American Banknote Co. for 1887 1 c. and Volcano 10 c., 1888 5 c. and 1889 1 c. and 2 c. values, all engraved in black, imperforate on India paper and adhered to three small cards, each with ABN marginal imprint at base and file numbers. A scarce and attractive group.

    1892: Landing of Columbus Issue, composite Die Proof by the Hamilton Banknote Co. with completed designs for the 1 c., 10 c, 11 c., 20 c. 25 c. and 50 c. values and two further examples with Duty Plates blank, all engraved in black on thin India paper adhered to card (83 x 152 mm.) with file number '547' at base. A rare and most appealing Proof.

    1893: Composite Essay by the Hamilton Bank Note Co. on thin India paper (116 x 51 mm.) with three designs engraved in black showing the vignette of the allegorical 'Peace / Liberty' design for Salvador, central example with vignette only as used for 1894 issue, left hand example dated 1893 for unissued Bolivia 1 c. and right hand design with unissued Guatemala 10 c. Unusual and most attractive.

    1894: Liberty 1 c. brown, an unused block of twenty-five (5 x 5) imperforate on three sides and marginal with part imprint at right, pre-cancelled, used as a Salesman's Sample, the reverse showing nine different Seebeck Advertising Underprints for Cigarettes (three different brands), Adam's Tutti Frutti, Chocolate, Crackers, Beecham's Pills, Pear's Soap and Hood's Sarsaparilla; printed in blue. Rare and most unusual.

    1894: Provisional 1 c. on 11 c. vermilion, a horizontal strip of five and Jan 1894 10 c. violet used on 1894 cover to Switzerland, tied by circular 'Star' handstamps with 'San Salvador' cds alongside (Dec 18). Reverse with New York 'Foreign Transit' cds (Jan 3, 1895) and Frauenfeld arrival cds (Jan 14). A scarce franking.

A delightful group: possibly for the unadopted Postal Stationery.
