    1817 (March 12): Entire letter from Havana to Bordeaux endorsed 'via de Cadiz' at left, struck with superb ISLAS DE / BARLOVENTO in brown and by ESPAGNE / PAR BAYONNE entry mark in black, rated '8' due in manuscript. Internal docketing of receipt (March 29). A charming entire.

    1837 (Aug 16): Entire letter from Havana to Bordeaux endorsed 'p. Paquebot Bordelais No. 4', disinfected and struck with two line italic "Purifié au Lazaret / de Trompeloup" in black with framed 'Pays D'Outremer' above. Bordeaux arrival cds (Oct 12) on reverse. A rare disinfection cachet - in use for just three years - this being the example illustrated in 'Disinfected Mail' by Dr. K. F. Meyer on page 142.

    1846/48: Entire letters (2) from Havana to Spain with archive dated 1846 cover disinfected with slits in the Canary Islands and struck with DE INDIAS and '9R' (reales) charge marking; 1848 entire letter from Havana to Santander endorsed 'Con Cargo p. Frohmerano' and struck with fine YNDIAS in red with manuscript '9r.' due. An attractive pair.

    1860 (June 11): Entire letter to Nègrepelisse, France datelined "Brig d'Olivier, rade de la Havane" with long letter concerning Vera Cruz and Martinique and noting that the 'Ville de Lima' was also in Port, endorsed 'voie Americaine' but without postal markings until receipt in Paris (July 3) and reverse with local transits and arrivals. A most unusual entire.

    1870 & 1873: Unpaid covers (2) each from Cuba via New York to Bordeux, earlier cover wth oval J.M. & L. de ESCORIAZA / NEW YORK Forwarding Agent's cachet in blue with circular BR. TRANSIT and "GB/2F" Accountancy marking applied in London in black; and 1873 cover, some faults, mailed via Baltimore and New York with circular FROM HAVAVA and struck with "GB/3F 60c." Accountancy mark in black.

    1875: Cover from Havana to Jarnac, France endorsed 'voie de St. Nazaire', carried on the 'Ville de Brest' and struck with fine octagonal "HAVANE / PAQ. FR. B No. 4" Paquebot datestamp (May 22) in black (Salles fig. 1439), charged '12' décimes due upon delivery.

    1857: ½ r. blue, no wmk., a fine used block of six (2 x 3), marginal from top of sheet with large margins all round, sixth stamp (position 38, row 3, stamp 4) showing "Top left Corner Blank / Void Corner" variety clearly, lightly cancelled by network obliterators in black, together with a very fine horizontal pair showing a later more pronounced state of the variety.

    1871/75: France Cérès 25 c. blue in a strip of four, used on 1873 cover from Havana to Cognac, France tied by dotted Anchor lozenge with octagonal CUBA Consular datestamp alongside (Aug 20) in black (Salles fig. 1364). Reverse with circular LIGNE B / PAQ. FR. No. 2 datestamp (Aug 26) in black (Salles fig. 1431) and carried on the 'Louisiane'. Trimmed at base and slight imperfections but a scarce and attractive cover.

    1862: France 80 c. carmine used on 1865 cover to Havana, Cuba tied by Paris Star '15' with red framed 'P.P.' at right. Mailed via Great Britain and St. Thomas with rare framed "N.E. / 2 RS" Postage Due marking in black alongside.
