    1805 (June 15): Disinfected entire letter from Palma to Schwitz, Switzerland endorsed "pr. Lion, Lucerne en Suisse", struck on despatch with scarce "MA / LLOR / CA" circular handstamp in black. Rastel punched and vinegar splashed for disinfection, charged due 40 kreuzer in red crayon on arrival (July 3). Scarce.

    Carlist War 1834/39: Entire letters (2) to London, with 1838 entire from Lieutenant in the British Legion, written from Pasajes and struck with red oval "S. SEBASTIAN" in red and two line "Espagne Par / St. Jean De Luz" in black with interesting content concerning an ambush "the Carlists concealed themselves under a breast work from which their fire was aimed with fatal presision ... two men killed and three wounded ... they stripped the bodies and made off with the booty", the second entire dated 1836 from Bayonne to London and re-addressed, again with fascinating content "news arrived that Gomez ... had suffered a signal defeat on the 20th by General Allis, prisoners 1394 ...". A rare pair of entires.

    1872 (Oct 17): Cover from Cadiz via Lisbon to Montevideo, Uruguay over-franked by 1872 12 c. grey-violet, 25 c. brown and 50 c. green tied by mute lozenge of dots, Cadiz despatch cds at right and charged on arrival with framed "10 Centimos" handstamp in black. Reverse with Badajoz and Lisbon (Oct 28) transits. Slight flap tear and file fold away from adhesives but a scarce cover-overpaid by 12 centavos.
