    1866 (Nov 29): Cover from Bahia to Montevideo, Uruguay prepaid '1/-' in manuscript, struck with both "♚ / PAID / AT / BAHIA" handstamp and double arc BAHIA cds (Nov 29) struck well in black on obverse. Internal docketing of receipt (Dec 10). Ironed file fold but in exceptional quality for this rare marking Gi = £ 3'750.rnProvenance: Collection Grant Glassco, RL, London, 25-27 Nov 1969, lot 567.

    1874 (June 5): Great Britain 1873 3 d. rose pl. 12 and 1865 4 d. vermilion pl. 13 used on 1874 cover from Bahia to Bordeaux endorsed 'p. Galicia', cancelled by fine strike of the "C81" obliterator with 'Bahia' datestamp in black below (June 4). 'London / Paid' and circular 'PD' applied in red (June 30) on obverse with Calais transit and arrivals on reverse (July 1). Slightest of aging to perfs. but a fine and unusual cover - the 3 d. rose plate 12 was not issued to any British Post Office in Brazil and this is the latest reccorded usage of British stamps from this Office.     1866 (Nov 11): Great Britain 1865 1 s. green pl. 4, a used example on 1866 cover from Bahia to Sale, Manchester endorsed 'per S.S.Rhone', tied by bold strike of "C81" obliterator with double arc BAHIA cds alongside (Nov 11) in black. 'London / Paid' transit cds (Nov 30) in red at left,  Manchester cds and 'Ashton-on-Mersey' arrival (Nov 30) on reverse, Some minor aging mentioned for accuracy, a fine and very rare Bahia usage.

    1871 (Oct 25): Great Britain 1864 1 d. red pl. 130, two single examples and a horizontal pair used on 1871 cover form Pernambuco to Buenos Aires, Argentina tied by four strikes of the "C82" obliterator in black. Reverse with single ring 'Pernambuco' datestamp (Oct 25) and internal docketing of receipt (Nov 7).     1872 (June 17): Great Britain 1867 3 d. rose pl. 7 in a rare block of four used with two 1867 6 d. violet pl. 9 on 1872 cover to London, elaborately endorsed 'England, via Liverpool, per. P.S.N.C. SS Olbers, June 17, 1872', all tied by five somewhat unclear strikes of the "C83" obliterator in black with 'Rio de Janeiro / Paid' cds in red at left (June 17). Reverse with two London arrival datestamps (July 9) in black and in red.
