    1851: 5 c. black, a fine used horizontal pair with large margins all round used with 40 c. rose (delicate rose-lilac shade, margin just shaved at top), on 1853 large piece cancelled in black with part 'Nizza Maritima' datestamp (July 30) alongside. Reverse with Paris cds (Aug 2). A rare and most attractive piece. Signed E. Diena Sassone = € 16'000.

    1851: 5 c. black, horizontal pair in a deep shade with margins all round and just touched at right, used with 40 c. rose, four margins, on 1852 single rate (7½ grams) entire letter from Torino to Paris, all tied by dotted lozenges in black. 'Torino' despatch cds (July 20) at right in black and red 'P.D.' alongside 'Beauvoisin' entry marking in red. Some negligible strengthening internally but an exceptionally attractive and very scarce cover. Signed E. Diena. Cert. Raybaudi (1989). Michel = € 15'000+/Sassone = € 30'000+.

    1855/63: 5 c. deep green in a vertical pair, 20 c. deep blue and fine 40 c. rose-red all used on 1857 cover to Naples tied by 'Genova' datestamps (June 16) in black. Reverse with 'Napoli' arrival cds (June 19). The adhesives with just shaved to fine margins all round and one or two cover bends but an appealing and scarce three colour franking.

    Note: 20 c. deep blue with diagonal scissor cut at top in the blue margin.

    1855/63: Sardinia 5 c. yellow green, embossed central vignette misplaced to top and 40 c. rose-carmine used in combination with Italy 1863 15 c. blue (Type I) used on attractive 1863 cover from Florence to Vienna, Austria tied by 'Firenze' datestamps (May 8) in black. Unframed P.D. in black below. Reverse with Railway transit cds and Vienna (May 12) arrival cds. A charming and scarce three colour combination usage.

    1855/63: Sardinia 5 c. yellow green and scarce 80 c. bright orange, both with large margins all round, used in combination with Italy April 1863 15 c. blue on attractive entire letter from Genoa to Montevideo, Uruguay all tied by 'Genova' datestamps (July 23). 'Italie / Lanslebourg' entry marking in red and 'London / Paid' transit cds (July 27) on front. Slight ironed file fold but a remarkable and rare three colour combination usage to an unusual destination. Cert. Raybaudi (1987).

    1855/63: Study collection in an album with serveral hundred stamps used (mainly) and unused from 5 c. up to L 3., with single stamps, pairs, strips of three, blocs of four and more, stamps on piece and two covers, showing a wealth of colour shades and cancellations, in addition issues of the 'Province Napoletane' as well as plenty 15 c. blue of Italy used (Sassone No. 11), good to mixed condition, on album pages with collector's notes.
