    Bulâq 2½ pi. violet used with 1872 Penasson 1 pi. red, on 1874 registered cover to Triest, each tied by V. R. POSTE EGIZIANE / SUEZ datestamps (Dec 5) in black. Framed RACCOMANDATE handstamp at base, reverse with Alexandria cds (Dec 6), Brindisi cds (Dec 9) and Triest arrival. A superb and rare cover - the earliest recorded usage of the 'Bulâq' 2½ piastre.
