1 pi. claret, perf. 12½, corner block of 20 from lower right corner of the second pane, positions 136-140/156-160/176-180/196-200; with pos. 140 showing broken frame and white flaw at base, pos. 198 showing damage to pearls at bottom left and on left frameline, pos. 199 with 'sad' broken in overprint; of good centering and colour, showing marginal inscription PIASTRE 1 at right and MINISTERO at base, tone spots affecting the front and reverse, but with large part original gum. One of the largest blocks known of the first issue, just one larger block (of 53, ex Byam, Mishrick, Antonini, Fikry, now in the Todd collection) exists, this being the largest corner block known.
