    1863 (Aug 31): Entire letter to Sira, Greece with Type VI circular POSTA EUROPEA / CAIRO despatch datestamp in blue, thence transferred to Greek Post Office in Alexandria where franked by 1862 Athens printing 80 lepta carmine tied by '97' lozenge of dots in black with ALEXANDRIA / (TURKEY) datestamp below (August 19, julian) and 'Paid to Destination' handstamp at left. Syra arrival cds (Aug 25, julian) on reverse. A rare combination usage, illustrated in Smith on colour plate 1.
