    Chile 1840 (Aug 1): Outer letter sheet from Sydney, NSW to Valparaiso, Chile, endorsed at top 'pr. England' and 'Duplicate' with superb strike of Crown PAID SHIP LETTER / SYDNEY in red of despatch. Manuscript '6' (pence) prepaid for a double weight outwards Ship Letter and, just above, manuscript '2' (reales) due for delivery on arrival. An extremely fresh and fine cover to a most unusual destination - Trans-Pacific covers of this period are extremely rare.
