    Cape of Good Hope 1834 (May 22): Second sheet of entire letter from Sydney, NSW to Cape of Good Hope, endorsed at top 'per Vectis, via Mauritius', prepaid '4' (pence) in manuscript as an outward Ship Letter, struck with Crown POST PAID SHIP LETTER / SYDNEY in red on despatch (June 16) and apparently prepaid with further manuscript '1/3' on front to destination (unusual thus). Struck on arrival with fine Crown GENERAL POST OFFICE / CAPE OF GOOD HOPE in black (Sept 25). Rare.
