Lot# 4054 - 191-195 Auction

Aguascalientes 2 r. yellow green, with 'Aguascaltes' District overprint at right in black, a rare Provisional usage from Aguascalientes used in 1864 during the Eagle issue period, a fine used example cancelled by the mute "0" handstamp (Schatzkes fig. 12). Rare - Aguascalientes was not a District during the duration of the 1856 Hidalgo issue and came under the jurisdiction of Zacatecas. Cert. Mepsi (1981).
