    1 d. green, Coil Join example used on printed envelope, some toning at top, to Oakland, California, USA with Great Britain 1870 6 d. mauve pl. 9 (two examples, one with small fault, all tied by "C35" obliterators of the British P.O. in Panama. Light 'Panama' datestamp and fine 'San Francisco' cds of transit (Sept 12) on front, with manuscript notation '10' for the USA ship rate. Cover trimmed at left and some ageing around perfs. but a rare usage.
