    ½ peso dull orange-yellow, Transfer Type B, a fine large margined example with minor creasing at top, used on March 14, 1858 entire letter from Lima to Huaraz cancelled by LIMA lozenge of dots handstamp in black. An exceptional entire and of great rarity - used on the fourth day of issue - and the earliest recorded use of this stamp on letter. Cert. Holcombe (1992).

    Note: Scott lists the issue date as March 1, 1858. Stanley Gibbons and Herbert Moll favour March 10, 1858.
