    1866: Dom Pedro 100 r. green, 200 r. black damaged on application and 500 r. orange all used on 1876 cover endorsed 'per Mendoza' to Bordeaux, tied by segmented cork cancellations and by 'Rio de Janeiro' despatch cds. French Paquebot RIO JANEIRO / PAQ. FR. J No. 4 datestamp below (Jan 4) and reverse with Bordeaux arrival cds (Jan 27). Despite the imperfection an attractive three colour franking at 800 reis double rate.
