    1861: 280 r. vermilion, a fine four margined example used on 1864 envelope from Maranhão to Estagel, France (paying the 280 reis rate under the 1860 Convention), neatly tied in black. Brazilian framed PD' in red at left and further French 'P.D.' alongside 'Bresil / Calais' entry marking (July 5) in red. Reverse with Estagel arrival cds in black. A charming and scarce cover.
