    1861 (Oct 18): Entire letter from Cairo to Marseille struck with Type IV circular POSTA EUROPEA / CAIRO datestamp in black of despatch, rated '1' piastre prepaid, with France 1853 10 c. bistre brown and 40 c. orange, margins touched and file fold, tied by '3704' petit chiffres. Alexandria French P.O. cds at right and 'Paq. Ang. / Marseille' entry mark (Oct 26) on front in red. Despite faults, a scarce combination cover.
