80 r. slate violet (deep shade) used on 300 r. red postal stationery envelope with 1878/79 20 r. violet sent registered from Rio De Janeiro to Copenhagen, Denmark, cancelled by segmented cork cancels with 'Rio De Janeiro' despatch cds in red (May 18, 1878) and oval REGISTRADO alongside. 'Vom Ausland über / Hamburg 1' registered label on front and reverse with arrival cds. A fine and scarce mixed issue usage to an unusual destination.
