    10 r. vermilion, 50 r. blue and 200 r. black used on 1877 entire letter from Maceio to Figueria, Portugal carried by British Packet 'Tagus', the adhesives all tied by two types of dotted segmented cork handstamps in black. 'P. De Jaragua' cds of despatch at left (Oct 26) and oval 'Franca' at right. Reverse with two strikes of 'Pernambuco / Brazil' transit cds (Oct 27) and 'P. Transatlantico' in green (Nov 10) entry marking. A superb and rare example of the newly introduced UPU rate.
