    500 r. orange (four examples) used on reverse of somewhat truncated 200 r. black postal stationery envelope with additional 100 r. green, all tied by segmented cork handstamps in black. Circular REGISTRADO / BAHIA datestamp on front (Oct 5, 1872) in blue and reverse with notation of enclosed value 'Vale 100$000' in manuscript. Rated at Postage 100 r., registration 200 r. and 2% insurance fee of 2'000 reis. Despite the faults a very rare usage, probably the highest franking of the 500 reis on an internal cover. Cert.
