    20 r. reddish lilac on paper blued by gum, used in combination with 50 r. blue (2) on 1869 entire letter from Maranhão to Porto, Portugal and cancelled by black handstamps with 'Maranhao' datestamp above in black (Jan 5). Reverse with Brazilian and British P.O. 'Pernambuco' datestamps (Jan 12) in black, alongside 'P. Transatlantico' datestamp in blue (Jan 29) and Porto arrival (Jan 30) in black. Charged '300' reis handstruck on arrival. Slight file fold on one 50 reis adhesive, otherwise a fine and most appealing entire. Cert. Moorhouse (2013).
