    Siege of Paris. 1870 (Dec 28): Entire letter locally used within Paris (the writer having wood for sale), franked by Cérès 1870 10 c. bistre tied by Paris Star '28' with corresponding 'Paris / R. Cardinal-Lemoine' datestamp at left. The adhesive with top perfs. trimmed but an extremely rare example of franked internal mail during the Siege.
