    1849: Entire on printed headed paper dated June 30, 1849; mailed from Brussels to Gand on July 2, 1849 with Epaulette 20 c. pale blue tied by '24' numeral with "Bruxelles 2 JUIL 1849" datestamp in blue green alongside-the second day of use. Reverse with Gand arrival datestamp (July 3) in red. A remarkable and rare second day of issue usage.
    Note: The date of issue of Belgium's first adhesive postage stamps was July 1, 1849, a Sunday.
