1843 (Sept 15): Entire letter from Alexandria to Steyr, Austria prepaid 12 kreuzer to Trieste by sea, charged a further 12 kr. due on receipt under the new 1842 tariff for the inland journey to destination, struck with bold ALEXANDRIA straight line handstamp in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 1).
