Candia 1861 (March 3): Entire letter from Candia to Syros, Greece struck with oval framed "Sunburst" AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO / CANDIA handstamp in green (Tchilinghirian fig. 541). Reverse with Syros arrival cds and charged double rate '40' lepta due for inland delivery in manuscript. Mentioned in Tchilinghirian, the earliest known example of this handstamp, a magnificent cover.
